So, first of all, let's get this out there: you don't need to use words to tell stories, and picture books get a big leg up here. You do need great art and a lot of fun if you're going to skip all the words though. Fortunately, Rathmann delivers and this book is just a lot of fun. There is something of a plot (it's paper thin!) but the sheer fun of it all really makes it all work. This is Weird Art, and I like Weird Art.
