If You Give a Mouse a Cookie - Laura Joffe Numeroff

Well, I love a lot about this. The story is fun, I am a fan and I liked the ending. There's a good amount of of whimsy and silliness in it, and it's well complemented by the art - it's nothing magical, but without the art I don't think it'd be nearly as good of a book. It's a classic, of course. That said, I don't think it has infinite re-readability or anything, and there isn't all that much to be gotten out of it. No deep lessons (not required!) and there isn't anything that made me laugh with joy or whatever. Just a nice solid bedtime story.
